The Opportunity
We have a permanent full-time opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety professional with proven Advisory level experience to join our hard working and friendly HSW team at HBF. Reporting to the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager and based out of our modern Kings Square head office, you will work in collaboration with management, your team and the wider business to maintain a safety culture focused on proactive prevention, holistic health and wellbeing strategies, injury prevention and continuous improvement linked to workforce needs.

You will act as a SME and educate HBF employees on the laws, regulations and policies that apply to their day-to-day responsibilities, strengthening effective HSW governance within HBF.

You will work collaboratively with stakeholders to develop, embed and monitor a safe system of work for our people and to support WHS accountabilities at all levels of the business; in turn driving and maintaining HBF's risk mitigation processes. This includes ensuring there’s focus on the psychosocial characteristics of work to promote health and avoid illness and facilitate a ‘psychologically safe’ workplace.

About You

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a corporate services, healthcare or clinical environment
  • Post-graduate qualifications or advanced diploma in Occupational Safety & Health; or substantial equivalent experience
  • Experience in multi-disciplinary health is desirable
  • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of Occupational Safety & Health Act 1984, Occupational Safety & Health Regulations 1996, Codes of Practice and contemporary safety practices
  • Experience with WHS Due Diligence in relation to business acquisition is desirable
  • Lateral thinker with strong analytical skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritise workload independently, be organised and work collaboratively within a team
