The opportunity
As our organisation continues to grow and expand in exciting ways, so does our need to continue delivering exceptional Actuarial services to our business. We are currently seeking a tertiary qualified and experienced Actuarial professional with leadership experience to join the Commercial stream of our in-house Actuarial function. This role will report to our Chief Actuary and offered as a permanent full-time opportunity.

Whilst predominantly based out of our Kings Square head office (conveniently located near public transport stations and ports), HBF teams work flexibility from home and the office and utilise technologies to ensure we can collaborate and communicate effectively from anywhere!

What will you be doing?
Partnering with members of the wider Actuarial team, Finance and Provider Relations, you will develop a sound understanding of the needs of the business and deliver insightful, impactful and influential actuarial reporting, analysis and services. You will give direction on benefit payment trends and funding models and develop new, outcomes-based models focusing on sustainable funding. As a leader, you will mentor and guide a small team of Actuarial professionals to generate analysis and insights to support decision making at HBF.

Who are we looking for?
Do you have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Actuarial Science or a numerical based degree pursuing an Actuarial career?
  • Extensive experience in actuarial work and demonstrated ability in influencing senior level leaders and key stakeholders?
  • Strong business acumen with strategic thinking, problem-solving and superior analytical skills?
  • The ability to tell stories using data and visuals that clearly articulate business problems and solutions?
  • Proven experience managing and leading high performing teams?
