The Opportunity

The HBF Member Experience division is currently seeking an Operational Risk Advisor to facilitate, provide guidance and support the operationalisation of the Risk Management Framework across the business. Thereby enabling the business to manage risk responsibly, through the management of incidents, issues, audit and assurance findings, impacting the division.

Your role will be to provide specialist risk advice and support the optimisation of new initiatives, products, digital solutions and process improvements through the facilitation of risk assessments ensuring potential risk and compliance matters are effectively identified and robust controls are implemented.

This position is also responsible for testing the design, implementation and effectiveness of key controls identified in the Divisional Risk Profile and supporting the development and implementation of effective treatment plans by the business.

As a subject matter expert, you will coach the business on risk awareness and risk culture through good communication insightful reporting and change management techniques.


About You

The ideal candidate has proven experience in a similar role, in a regulated industry with a good understanding of the three lines of defence framework. You will be able to demonstrate your knowledge of the application of enterprise risk management methodology, processes and tools.

Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail, analytical skills, as well as the ability to work autonomously will ensure you are set up for success in this role.

Tertiary qualifications in Risk Management, Commerce or a similar field, as well as proven experience in risk or compliance related role within the financial services industry is advantageous (but not essential).
