The Role

As our Assurance Manager, you’ll be at the heart of our in-house internal audit function, supporting the delivery of the HBF Group Internal Audit Plan through the planning and delivery of high-quality internal audits across the business. Within a team of experienced auditing professionals, you’ll report directly to the General Manager Assurance, based in our Central Perth CBD office.

The day to day
Lead Audits: You’ll plan, execute, and manage audits across HBF — delivering and confidently presenting clear findings and actionable recommendations to enhance our internal controls.

Collaborate Across Teams: Working closely with both internal stakeholders and external co-sourced providers, you’ll ensure smooth, effective audit processes.

Data Analytics: You will perform audits that are data-driven and utilize data analytics to identify trends, patterns, anomalies and areas for improvement across the organization’s operations and controls.

Build Relationships: You’ll build and maintain meaningful working relationships within the organisation so information can be gathered, facts verified and solutions to problems co-designed in a collaborative manner.

Coach and Develop: You’ll provide guidance and mentorship to colleagues, helping them grow by sharing your subject matter expertise and support the development of a positive culture.

Drive Continuous Improvement: Your work will focus on process improvements, making sure we’re not only compliant with the International Professional Practices Framework® (IPPF®) Global Internal Audit Standards but also driving efficiency through data analytics and technology.


What We’re Looking For
You are an experienced internal Auditor having previously worked within large organisations, preferably within in a health or general insurance industry or, an APRA regulated organisation. Your qualification in business, commerce or similar coupled with a post graduate qualification (CIA/CA/CPA) would assist in your success in this role but is not essential.

You are comfortable working independently, and confident in presenting your findings to senior stakeholders and committees and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills which will assist you in running solutions workshops and co design actions/outcomes.

You are driven by data, with the ability to extract insights from large data sets using data analytics to drive efficiencies and strengthen reporting for stakeholders. You prioritise accuracy, using your strong attention to detail and keen analytical skills to ensure validity of reporting.
