An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Products team. The Senior Product Portfolio Analyst plays a key role in enabling data-informed decision-making across HBF by delivering high-quality reporting, actionable insights, and strategic analysis. This role combines deep analytical expertise with strong business acumen to support senior leadership in understanding product performance, identifying growth opportunities, and achieving key strategic objectives. Operating in a complex and evolving environment, the Senior Product Portfolio Analyst will take a hands-on role in building and delivering reporting and insights that influence strategic direction and drive impact.
About the role
- Lead the development, enhancement, and maintenance of reports, dashboards, and key performance metrics to monitor and evaluate HBF’s products across numerous portfolios and brands.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve existing portfolio reporting and introduce new reporting, analysis, or metrics
- Translate complex and detailed data into meaningful, actionable insights that clearly articulate performance drivers, emerging risks, and growth opportunities.
- Ensure consistency in reporting definitions, data sources, and metrics by collaborating with internal stakeholders to align on key business terminology and measurement approaches
- Work cross-functionally with teams such as Actuarial, Finance, and Operations to diagnose business challenges, validate hypotheses, and provide analytical support that drives performance improvement and innovation
- Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership and executives to inform strategic decision-making
- Act as a trusted business partner to senior leaders, influencing decisions through evidence-based analysis and ensuring that insights are embedded into planning and prioritisation processes
About you
- Demonstrated experience (e.g. typically 5+ years) in a commercial and portfolio analytics role in a data-driven and regulated environment
- Experience in insurance or financial services is desirable
- Tertiary qualifications in a numerate discipline; Finance, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics
- Proven ability in designing reports and dashboards with a customer-centric approach to data reporting
- Strong attention to detail, ability to self-review and deliver complete and accurate analysis that provides actionable insights
- Ability to extract, manage, and manipulate large amounts of data using SQL
- Expert Microsoft Excel skills e.g. building dynamic reporting, using table functions and VBA
- Capable of managing and prioritising multiple competing tasks and meeting deadlines
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement having worked with a range of departments and levels across a business
- Ability to build strong inter-and-cross functional relationships to integrate and drive best practice in reporting and analysis
- A collaborative team player who thrives in a dynamic environment and contributes to the success of the broader team
- Proactive work ethic and a drive to contribute to the success of the business through insights-driven decision-making
