As a Payment Integrity Specialist with HBF you will work towards ensuring HBF’s sustainability into the future by investigating instances of claims fraud and inappropriate conduct to reduce potential loss to the organisation. Through investigations, you’ll actively look for opportunities to implement new or enhance existing processes to effect greater identification of claims leakage.

What you'll do

You’ll be part of our Payment Integrity team, protecting member benefits and reducing unnecessary costs. Here’s a snapshot of your day-to-day:
  • Investigate an audit claims leakage, fraud, and inappropriate behaviour to minimise financial risk
  • Analyse data and run reports to spot anomalies and potential fraud
  • Prepare briefs of evidence for police, AHPRA, and regulatory bodies
  • Liaise with providers, members, and internal teams to gather and document evidence
  • Share findings and deliver fraud awareness training
  • Recommend policy and system changes to reduce leakage and align with industry standards
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and professional bodies

About You
You’re naturally curious, detail-driven, and love connecting the dots to uncover trends. With previous experience in investigations or audit, you’re confident in your ability to spot anomalies and tell the story behind the data.

You communicate clearly over the phone and in report writing and external communications, and know how to build strong relationships while influencing outcomes. You’re comfortable presenting fraud awareness sessions to different audiences and experience preparing briefs for police or regulators.
