The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to join our Delivery Enablement Chapter – working within the Digital Tribe as part of the Discovery and Onboard (Web) squad.

Leadership of an agile team
- Provides support to their team using a servant leadership style facilitating the team’s self-organisation and empowerment and leading by example.
- Organises and facilitates the team rituals including stand ups, team planning, showcases and retrospectives.
- Coach the team (and organisation) on how to effectively use Agile practices for improved agility
- Ensures that work in the team is done without assigning or dictating
- Assesses the agile maturity of the team and coach them to higher levels of maturity
- Measures the health of the team and where necessary, resolving conflicts within the team by encouraging discussions and consideration of alternative approaches
- Removes impediments to progress or assist the team to remove impediments independently
- Builds a trusting and a safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, or judgement.
Product / Initiative Delivery
- Ensures delivery of functionality into the hands of users at the earliest opportunity
- Ensures that work at a squad level aligns to the Tribe and the Change Engine Quarterly plan – working on the right things at the right time
- Understanding of SDLC of a product from inception through to delivery into production
- Works with the team to ensure that functionality is delivered in line with the Change Engine priorities in a way which is both predictable and sustainable.
- Supports Product Owner(s) refining and maintaining the product backlog ensuring a steady flow of work and while minimising work in progress.
- Ensures work is estimated collaboratively by the team (at quarterly planning) and prioritised by the Product Owner(s) with appropriate input from the team
- Gather empirical data on work completion, build forecasts/plans, and value/benefit delivery to support Product Owner.
- Ensures work is conducted in accordance of Technology’s agreed processes, standards and guidelines (peer review / testing / review)
- Supports Product Owner(s) to ensure that all plans, work packages and deliverables are aligned to the expected benefits.
Delivery Enablement Chapter
- Coaches and provides support to less experienced Scrum Masters, BAs and Product Owner(s) where required.
- Works with other Scrum Masters and Agile Coach to increase the effectiveness of the application of Agile practices within HBF.
- Actively monitors for, and seeks, opportunities, new methods, trends, capabilities and products to the advancement of the organisation. Encourages and motivates colleagues to share creative ideas and learn from failures.
Desirable knowledge and skills
- Experience working in organisations that use scalable agile frameworks
- Scrum Master certification (PSM, CSM)
- Experience using Atlassian toolsuite: JIRA, Confluence, Advanced Roadmaps
- Experience with Content Management Systems and UX/UI design
- Knowledge of Health Insurance industry - business and information systems and associated processes
