As our Risk Advisor, you’ll be a crucial player in managing and improving risk and compliance within the People & Corporate Affairs (P&CA) division. You’ll help ensure our team meets its regulatory and governance obligations while driving continuous improvement in how we identify, assess, and mitigate risks.
As a Line 1 risk role, the Advisor will work collaboratively with Governance and Risk division in the development, maintenance and implementation of the Group Risk Management Framework and management of regulatory, governance and compliance risk across the People and Corporate Affairs division.
What you’ll do
- Lead efforts to embed and promote a proactive risk culture within P&CA
- Drive the implementation and everyday use of our group, Risk Management System, Risk Management Framework and Risk Appetite Statement
- Work with the P&CA leadership team to identify, assess, and manage key divisional risks, ensuring controls are effective and compliance obligations met
- Collaborate closely with the Governance and Risk division to maintain and improve P&CA risk frameworks
- Maintain risk profiles and registers current and spot emerging risks or opportunities
- Work collaboratively with P&CA leadership to develop and maintain clear policies that are aligned with regulatory requirements, while leveraging technology to enhance effectiveness
About you
Your previous roles, ideally within a highly regulated environment (insurance or financial services) have set you up to confidently lead risk management and assurance for a small team.
You demonstrate a strong understanding and practical knowledge of risk management frameworks and tools and use excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills to share your knowledge.
You are skilled in policy development with clear and effective written communication and have the ability to navigate complex and changing environments with agility and professionalism.
