As we evolve our technology landscape, we’re looking for a Senior Manager Cyber Engineering to ensure our systems are resilient, secure, and ready for the future.
This role is pivotal in shaping how HBF designs, builds, and operates enterprise-wide cyber and communications infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. You’ll bring strategic direction, strong technical leadership, and a drive for excellence, all while fostering a culture that thrives on collaboration and accountability.
You’ll lead a talented group of engineers who deliver both high impact projects and critical business as usual operations. From network performance to cloud security, your work will ensure every layer of our infrastructure supports HBF’s mission to deliver for members in the moments that matter.
What you’ll do
- Provide strategic and operational leadership across cyber and communications engineering
- Oversee project delivery and BAU operations, making sure systems stay secure, resilient, and compliant
- Support the Head of Cyber Security Engineering, ensuring smooth continuity of leadership
- Drive compliance with APRA CPS 234 and CPS 230, and uphold ISO 27001 standards
- Mentor and empower a high-performing engineering team to innovate and grow
About you
You’re an experienced technology leader who thrives on solving complex challenges and making security a seamless part of an organisation. Your background in cyber or infrastructure engineering along with your experience guiding teams, influence stakeholders, and make big-picture decisions will set you up for success in this role.
You’ll also bring:
- Several years in cyber security, infrastructure, or comms engineering preferably with 3+ years of leadership experience
- Proven experience managing enterprise-scale environments (cloud, on-prem, network, and security)
- Deep understanding of security-by-design and compliance frameworks
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value
- A continuous improvement mindset and passion for leading with purpose
- Certifications like CISSP, CISM, CCSP, CCNP, or cloud credentials (Azure/AWS) would be advantageous
