The Opportunity
We’re looking for a curious, member‑focused Business Analyst who can partner closely with the Risk team to shape and simplify risk processes across the organisation and within our technology change environment.
This role sits within the Business Analysis Chapter in the Tech Architecture & Emerging Technology division, reporting to the Business Analysis Chapter Lead.
Where You’ll Contribute
Working on our Risk Culture Improvement Program, you’ll cut through complexity in incident, issue, risk and control processes, capturing clear requirements and enabling an improved user experience and better quality data. In this role, you will:
- Independently lead stakeholders to assess current processes, identify pain points and inefficiencies, and drive targeted process improvements within HBF’s risk management solution.
- Capture business requirements in the form of user stories and acceptance criteria while proactively exploring how these can be streamlined through the use of emerging technologies.
- Work with business and technical team members to communicate requirements, support solution design, defect identification and analysis.
- Lead process mapping to assess current‑state workflows and define an optimised future state that drives meaningful process improvement.
- Bridge the gap between technical and business language, ensuring everyone is aligned.
You’ll be the key facilitator in this role - making complex concepts easily understood across all sides of the organisation.
This position is Perth based on a full-time 6-month contract.
Let’s Talk About You
You are a seasoned Senior Business Analyst with experience working with Agile delivery teams. You are an excellent communicator and facilitator who influences stakeholders through clear dialogue, structured engagement, with an ability to translate complex concepts into shared understanding. You are collaborative, delivery-focused and show positive behaviours. Known for your disciplined approach to work, you thrive in fast paced and ambiguous environments, and you prioritise and complete tasks on time without compromising quality. You have sound knowledge of risk culture, risk management frameworks and methodologies, risk assessments and regulatory standards.
Your technical toolkit includes proficiency in Jira and Confluence, and you are skilled in user story decomposition, facilitating estimation sessions, and translating solution design diagrams into actionable technical stories. You have a strong ability to absorb complex information, apply analytical thinking, and deliver clear, effective problem-solving.
Experience in process excellence with a Lean Six Sigma or similar qualification is highly regarded.
We’re looking for a Senior Business Analyst who is not only skilled in traditional analysis techniques but also forward-thinking in leveraging emerging technologies. Key parts of this role involves embracing Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance decision-making, streamline processes, and uncover deeper insights from data.
Candidates should be curious about how AI can be applied across business functions and proactive in identifying opportunities where intelligent automation and machine learning can drive value.
