About the Role
As HBF’s Talent Management & Development Lead, you will shape and advance our enterprise‑wide approach to talent, potential, and succession. You’ll architect the strategies, frameworks, and development experiences that build a strong, future‑ready leadership pipeline aligned to our strategy. Partnering closely with senior leaders, HRBPs and specialist teams, you’ll bring global insight, exceptional judgement and a deeply strategic mindset to how HBF identifies, develops and mobilises its future leaders.
The key responsibilities of this position include:
- Leading the evolution of HBF’s talent and potential frameworks to ensure alignment with organisational strategy and future capability needs.
- Embedding a consistent, enterprise‑wide approach to talent identification, assessment and lifecycle development.
- Developing diverse internal and external talent pools and overseeing high‑potential selection, readiness planning and critical experience mapping.
- Building enterprise pathways and experiential learning opportunities, including mentoring, mobility and succession‑focused development initiatives.
- Partnering with People Insights to deliver talent reporting, dashboards, succession risk analysis and strategic insights for Executive and Board stakeholders.
- Managing external experts and working collaboratively across P&CA to ensure cohesive, high‑impact talent programs that strengthen leadership capability and organisational bench strength.
This position may be based in either Perth (preferred) or Melbourne on a permanent full-time or part-time (0.8 FTE) basis. Travel will be required if the successful candidate is based in Melbourne.
About You
You are a strategic, relationship‑centred talent professional with deep expertise in leadership development and enterprise‑level talent strategy. With exceptional judgement and strong business acumen, you confidently influence senior stakeholders and bring scientific, evidence‑based thinking to talent decisions. You thrive in complex environments, navigate ambiguity with ease, and are energised by shaping the future leadership of a growing organisation.
Ideally, you will have:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Psychology, Business, Commerce or a related field (postgraduate and/or Organisational Psychology registration desirable).
- Demonstrated experience leading executive development, succession planning and talent management in a large or complex organisation.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to challenge constructively, influence senior leaders and build trusted, enduring relationships.
- Exceptional communication, facilitation and coaching capability, with confidence presenting to senior audiences.
- Proven ability to design, embed and sustain talent frameworks, pathways and development experiences across an organisation.
- Strong portfolio, project and stakeholder management skills, including managing external expert providers to deliver high‑impact outcomes.
