As a Payroll Officer at HBF, you will support end-to-end payroll processes, making sure our people get paid accurately and on time, and be the friendly expert who can explain entitlements and leave with clarity and confidence.
You will join a small team of payroll professionals within People and Corporate Affairs during an exciting period of change as we transition to workday as our HCM and payroll system. This is a 12 month max term opportunity available full time or 4 days. Here’s what your week might look like
Support the full payroll cycle from data validation, processing, reconciliations and reporting in both Xero and Workday
Help managers and employees understand their pay, leave, and entitlements
Support audits while ensuring we’re always compliant with legislation and HBF policies
Maintaining employee records and timesheets with accuracy and confidentiality
Responding to employee and manager queries with professionalism and care
Collaborating with both our People & Culture and Finance teams to keep everything running smoothly
About You This role could be a great fit if you have hands-on experience using Xero, Workday, Excel or other systems. You understand the basics of payroll legislation, superannuation, and tax and are interested in continuing to learn and expand your skills on the job and through training. You have a great eye for detail and take pride in getting things right, especially when it comes to confidential information. You enjoy helping people and are confident supporting employee questions via phone and a shared inbox to better understand their pay or leave.
