As a Claims Processor you will join our friendly team in Townsville, helping us deliver an exceptional experience for our members. You will ensure every claim is processed accurately, every interaction is professional and personal, and every opportunity to make a difference is taken. This is a 12 month part time contract covering leave, 25 hours per week.
You’ll bring an understanding of claims or administrative processes, along with a genuine commitment to great customer service. Every day, you’ll use your problem-solving skills and attention to detail to guide our members toward positive outcomes and help us continually improve how we do things.
What you’ll do
- Develop a strong understanding of Queensland Country Health Fund’s rules, products, and procedures so you can assess claims and make decisions with growing confidence
- Use available resources, guidelines, and critical thinking to investigate claims, resolve issues, and escalate only when needed
- Apply sound judgement when handling claim exceptions, knowing when to proceed independently and when to seek guidance
- Respond to enquiries from Members, Providers, and internal Team Members in a clear, professional, and supportive way
- Review, assess, and process claims accurately while maintaining quality and compliance, ensuring payments are made within service level agreements
- Maintain accurate member records, including processing refunds, reversals, and adjustments with care and attention to detail
- Prepare professional correspondence, ensuring every interaction reflects Queensland Country Health Fund’s commitment to quality service
- Investigate and resolve member queries, identifying opportunities to improve processes and enhance the member experience wherever possible
About you
You have experience in claims, insurance, finance, or a similar clerical or administrative role, and you’re known for your accuracy, care, and can-do attitude. You enjoy learning, are comfortable investigating issues, and feel confident forming your own decisions while taking ownership of your work.
You communicate clearly across phone and email, take pride in getting the details right, and enjoy learning new systems and adapting to change. You’re someone who stays calm when things get busy and is happy to support others when needed.
