An exciting opportunity has arisen within the finance team. This role is pivotal in supporting HBF’s sustainability initiatives through accurate and comprehensive climate-related financial disclosures. This role is essential in supporting the company's commitment to transparency, regulatory compliance, and long-term value creation through effective climate risk management and reporting. You will be a self-directed individual responsible for developing and implementing strategies to identify, assess, and manage climate-related risks and opportunities. You will take full ownership of tasks from start to finish, collaborating closely with other departments in finance, risk, and sustainability to achieve business objectives, contributing to the growth and sustainability of HBF.

 

About the role

  • Act as the key Finance liaison for climate-related reporting, ensuring alignment with the requirements of AASB S2
  • Support the integration of climate risks, opportunities and emissions data into reporting, forecast and strategic plans
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within HBF to ensure consistency and accuracy of climate related disclosures
  • Support the development and refinement of methodologies for climate scenario analysis, green house gas emissions accounting and risk quantification
  • Monitor and interpret evolving regulatory guidance, best practices and industry trends in climate reporting
  • Communicate complex climate insights to senior stakeholders, helping inform strategic decision making and communications
  • Support the continuous improvement of our internal controls, processes, and frameworks that underpin reliable, transparent climate related financial disclosures
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor climate-related risks
  • Engage with external stakeholders to gather insights on emerging climate risks and opportunities

 

About you

  • You’re an enthusiastic, passionate, and results-driven professional with an eye for detail
  • Demonstrated experience in climate reporting, sustainability, or a related field
  • High degree of self-management and ability to prioritise and manage many projects to deadline
  • A great collaborator, able to work with diverse stakeholders both externally and internally
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related area
  • Strong understanding of climate-related financial disclosures and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in climate risk management and financial planning is desirable
