About the Role  
As the Financial Accountant (Wellness), you’ll play a key role in delivering accurate, timely and compliant financial reporting for HBF’s Wellness group. You will provide technical accounting expertise, support tax and compliance activities, and contribute to strong internal controls, all while leading and developing one direct report. This role is ideal for a proactive accountant who enjoys both hands‑on financial work and continuous improvement.

In this role, you will:

• Deliver accurate month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end financial reporting, ensuring timely journals, reconciliations, and partner financial statements.
• Maintain and enhance financial controls, policies and procedures to support compliance and mitigate risk.
• Prepare and support submission of BAS, IAS, payroll tax and other tax requirements in collaboration with the Tax Manager.
• Oversee accounts payable activities, ensuring compliant, timely payments and accurate supplier set-up.
• Identify and implement process improvements, including opportunities for automation and efficiency across financial operations.
• Provide leadership, coaching and technical support to the Wellness Accountant, fostering capability growth and cross-team collaboration.

This position is based in Perth on a permanent full-time basis.

About You 
You’re a technically strong and detail‑driven accounting professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and takes pride in delivering accurate, high‑quality financial outcomes. With solid experience across financial reporting, taxation and compliance, you bring strong commercial acumen, excellent controls awareness and a proactive mindset. You enjoy improving processes, building strong relationships, and supporting others to grow.

Ideally, you will have:

• CA ANZ or CPA qualification, with at least 4 years post‑qualification experience in a medium‑sized or corporate environment.
• Demonstrated capability in financial reporting, including balance sheet verification, reconciliations and month‑end processes.
• Strong technical knowledge across taxation, including direct and indirect taxes (e.g., GST, payroll tax).
• Excellent understanding of governance, compliance and accounting standards, with a focus on quality and accuracy.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience using ERP/accounting systems.
• Exceptional communication and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines.
