About the Role  
As the Finance Operations Manager, you’ll drive team performance through effective leadership and coaching to ensure the smooth running of HBF’s core finance operations. This role is pivotal in maintaining financial integrity, driving process improvements, and supporting organisational performance through accurate reporting and strong governance. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders and external auditors, championing efficiency and compliance while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

In this role, you will:

• Oversee daily finance operations, including month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Develop and maintain robust financial policies and procedures to strengthen compliance and operational efficiency.
• Drive process improvement initiatives, leveraging automation and system enhancements to optimise workflows.
• Review and authorise balance sheet reconciliations and ad hoc payment requests, ensuring strong financial controls.
• Lead and mentor the Finance Operations team, providing coaching, performance feedback, and development opportunities.
• Manage internal and external audit activities, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and timely resolution of findings.

This position is based in Perth on a permanent full-time basis.

About You 
You’re an experienced finance professional with a strong technical foundation and proven leadership skills. You thrive in complex environments, balancing accuracy, compliance, and efficiency while fostering collaboration and continuous improvement. Your ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes makes you a trusted partner across the business.

Ideally, you will have:

• Professional accounting qualification (CA ANZ or CPA Australia).
• Minimum of 7 years’ post-qualification experience in medium to large, complex organisations.
• Strong track record in leading high‑performing teams and driving accountability.
• Robust knowledge of accounting principles, IFRS, and relevant governance and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience in medium to large corporate or regulated environments, with knowledge of private health and general insurance (highly desirable).
• Strong financial control capability, including reconciliations, balance sheet integrity, and data accuracy assurance.
• Solid proficiency in Microsoft Excel, supported by experience with ERP systems and accounting platforms.
• Highly self-motivated with excellent organisational skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
