About the Role
As an Internal Communications Consultant, you’ll be at the heart of connecting our people with what matters most at HBF. You’ll shape clear, meaningful and timely communication that helps employees feel informed, inspired and part of something bigger.
Working closely with leaders and teams across the organisation, you’ll translate strategy into compelling stories, support major initiatives with thoughtful communication planning, and champion a culture of openness, clarity and trust.
This role is a great fit for someone who loves to think strategically and roll up their sleeves. If you’re a proactive communicator who thrives in a fast‑paced, people‑centred environment, and you’re energised by the idea of making a real impact on employee engagement, this is the role for you.
In this role, you will:
- Plan, coordinate and deliver impactful internal communications that build alignment, strengthen engagement and reinforce a positive, connected organisational culture.
- Keep employees informed with clear, timely and transparent updates on organisational changes, priorities, initiatives and news.
- Partner with senior leaders to shape and execute communication strategies that support key projects and corporate objectives.
- Lead or contribute to communication elements of major initiatives, including campaign development, video content, storytelling, message frameworks and communication timelines.
- Provide operational support across our core communication channels, including the intranet, digital signage and multimedia content.
- Manage and deliver internal engagement events such as Town Halls, leadership forums and organisation‑wide gatherings that bring our people together.
This position is based in Perth on a 6-month fixed-term basis.
About You
You’re a versatile and experienced communicator who’s comfortable working with diverse stakeholders, balancing multiple priorities, and producing high‑quality work in a fast‑moving environment.
You bring curiosity, creativity and a genuine passion for helping people feel informed, connected and part of a strong organisational culture. With exceptional writing skills, sound judgement and a proactive mindset, you’re ready to make an impact in a role with visibility and influence across the entire organisation.
Ideally, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and at least six years’ experience in a communications role.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate ideas into clear, compelling messages.
- Demonstrated experience managing stakeholders at all levels of an organisation.
- Strong planning and execution capabilities across operational, project, and campaign-based work.
- Experience coordinating events and engagement activities.
- Experience using SharePoint or content management systems, plus confidence creating or editing multimedia content (video, graphics, photography).
